Star 3
Babolat's
quality craftsmanship and attention to detail are clearly evident with the Star
3. Mounting, tensioning, and clamping all rate highly."Air-support"
mounting system (V-shaped clamps hold the frame securely above the support
posts), and dual-action frame locking system adjust with the simple turn of a
dial. The air-support system allows automatic racquet leveling. The V-shaped
supports are coated with non-abrasive plastic to prevent cosmetic damage. The
Star 3's string clamps are impressive; nicely tooled and finished, good tension
holding with minimal pressure due to diamond dust coating on teeth. Action is
smooth and easy.
RDC
The Babolat Racquet Diagnostic Center (RDC) measures the stringbed deflection, weight, balance, flex, and Swingweight of racquets. Currently, racquet manufacturers have racquets coming from different plants and even different countries. It is not uncommon for the same model frames to have differences as much as 20 grams in weight, 12 units in swingweight, and 6 points (1 ½ inches) in the balance point. The RDC is the industry standard in matching these crucial racquet properties.
